Caroline County Public Schools Composting
Students are learning how to distinguish and sort what can be composted through hands on experience.
Staff is seeing a decrease in waste and learning the benefits of this for the world around us.
Implementation Process
It starts with education, hanging posters, proactive guidance and education, and then implementing the process which may look different at each location.
One employee is the head of the composting operations. They are experts in the implementation, guiding students and staff in education through doing, and accurately collecting, weighing, and labeling the collection.
New Grounds Composting provides a pick up service to our schools. This makes it easy for us to collect the compostable material and set it outside on pick up days!
